Man Shot Dead in Car Near Euston Station, Police Hunt Biker Suspect
A 26-year-old man was shot dead while sitting in a car near Euston station in central London on Saturday night, according to the Metropolitan Police. The victim died at the scene on Chalton Street despite the efforts of paramedics to save his life.
Emergency Response and Investigation Details
Emergency services were called to the area at around 11pm after gunshots were heard in the vicinity. Police have reviewed CCTV footage which shows a suspect arriving and leaving the scene on a bicycle. The individual is seen firing several shots at the man who was sitting in a white Nissan Juke at the time of the attack.
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, whose team is leading the investigation, stated: “We are aware of the concern that this will cause for the local community, and want to reassure them that we are working hard to identify the attacker and bring them to justice.”
Appeal for Information and Community Support
The victim's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers during this difficult period. Detective Chief Inspector Yorke added: “If anyone has any information that could help us, it is extremely important that they contact the police – either through 101, online or via independent charity Crimestoppers to remain anonymous. Our thoughts are with the young man’s family at this incredibly difficult time.”
Forensic investigators remained at the scene on Chalton Street following the shooting on Saturday night, collecting evidence and examining the area. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
