The friend, who has chosen to remain anonymous, described the harrowing experience in an emotional tribute to his young companion.
Final Phone Call Details
The friend explained that he was on a routine phone call with Sullivan at approximately 6:39 PM on Tuesday evening when the situation turned horrifying. "I was on the phone when it happened," he recounted. "He told me, 'Yo, me and a few friends are gonna go get a Lime bike down to grab some drinks.' Then the phone went quiet for about thirty seconds."
He continued with chilling detail: "It sounded like the phone was muted, then it unmuted, and I just heard screaming, like heavy breathing and that. I said, 'Fin, call me back when you can,' and hung up because I was scared and didn't know what to do. I thought maybe there was an altercation, hopefully he had run off and was okay. I tried to call and message him after that."
Tribute to a Vibrant Young Man
Speaking near the growing shrine of flowers and candles at the Primrose Hill location where Sullivan lost his life, the friend painted a picture of a vibrant, ambitious young man. "He was a brilliant man, a constant hard worker who never stopped working," he said emotionally. "His favorite quote was 'live every day like it is your last.' To spend time with him was a breath of fresh air. He was always making jokes and making sure everyone was feeling good."
Creative Career and Family Background
Finbar Sullivan, who lived in Maida Vale, was establishing himself as a music video director for rap and drill artists under the professional name 'Sully Shot It.' His friend noted Sullivan's professional connections, saying, "He had that courage to say, let's go. He had lots of connections with bigger artists and bigger labels."
Christopher Sullivan, Finbar's father and founder of the 1980s band Blue Rondo à la Turk who also established Soho's famous Wag Club, told the Daily Mail that his son had visited Primrose Hill that evening to test a new camera he had received as a birthday present. The grieving father described himself as "broken-hearted" at the loss of his only son.
