Man Faces Murder Charges After Deadly House Fire in North London

A man has been formally charged with two counts of murder following a devastating house fire that claimed the lives of two individuals in north London. Fouad Boudra, aged 25, stands accused of the murders of Mohammed Djellal, 24, and Faouzi Bouchadoe, 35, whose bodies were discovered inside the burning property.

Timeline of the Tragic Incident and Investigation

Emergency services, including police and firefighters, were dispatched to the scene on Forest Road in Walthamstow at 10.42pm on April 21, 2024. The terraced house, believed to be occupied by squatters at the time, was engulfed in flames. Authorities reported that an altercation occurred outside the residence prior to the fire breaking out.

Upon finding the victims, Metropolitan Police detectives initiated a murder investigation. Their efforts led them to track Boudra to France, where he was located. On August 10, 2025, the Crown Prosecution Service officially charged him with the murders. Subsequently, an international arrest warrant was issued by a judge on August 27, 2025.

He is scheduled to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Friday, April 3, to face a series of serious charges. Community Reaction and Background Details

Local resident Donna Wiggins, 46, who has lived in Walthamstow for 26 years, shared insights into the property's history. She mentioned being close friends with the former residents, who passed away several years ago. Wiggins claimed that the house was inherited by her friend's son, who was later evicted by squatters.

"I used to know the people who lived there. The mother used to be my neighbour," Wiggins stated. "I am not sure who the people who have passed away are. Another person I know said the son had been kicked out by squatters. But I haven't spoken to him since his mum's funeral. There was always unsavoury characters coming in and out of that house."

During the initial response, six fire engines and approximately 40 firefighters raced to the blaze on Forest Road. Despite their efforts, they were unable to save the two men trapped inside. The road was closed off as crews worked tirelessly to bring the flames under control.
