Nebraska Man Vanishes on Commute, Last Seen at Car Wash
Man Missing After Car Wash Stop on Way to Work

A 27-year-old Nebraska man has sparked a desperate search after vanishing without a trace over a week ago during his morning commute to work. Harrison Schreurs left his Lincoln apartment on January 28, heading for his job at Sandhills Global, a local information processing company, but never arrived for his shift, alarming his colleagues and family.

Surveillance Footage Reveals Final Sighting

During what should have been a routine 20-minute drive, Schreurs was captured on surveillance footage stopping at JetSplash Car Wash in Lincoln. The footage shows the 5'10" man at the checkout counter, dressed in a navy blue suit, black tie, and tan dress shoes, wearing glasses and sporting facial hair, while holding a wallet in his hand.

Additional video depicts him pulling up to the car wash in his vehicle, reaching an arm out the window. This mundane stop has become the last confirmed sighting of Schreurs, turning a typical errand into a critical clue in the investigation.

Phone Ping Adds to Mystery

In a troubling twist, Schreurs's phone later pinged near Ceresco, approximately 20 minutes from his workplace, around 10:03 a.m., according to his brother, John Schreurs, who spoke to the Lincoln Journal Star. This location has intensified concerns, as it suggests Schreurs may have been heading toward Dell Rapids, South Dakota, where he grew up, yet his family insists he had no reason to be driving there that day.

John expressed deep worry, stating, 'Why didn't he show up to work? That's question number one.' The inconsistency between his planned route and the phone's location has left investigators and loved ones grappling for answers.

Family Describes Uncharacteristic Behavior

Schreurs's cousin, Krissy Dykhouse, noted that he would have been driving his navy blue 2017 Ford Edge with license plate ARF611. Both she and John emphasized that it is highly unusual for Schreurs to go anywhere without informing someone first, describing him as a reliable and communicative individual.

John painted a vivid picture of his brother's personality, saying, 'Such a kind, thoughtful, generous - very funny guy. He cared. He cares.' This outgoing nature makes his sudden disappearance all the more perplexing and distressing for those who know him.

Community Rallies in Search Efforts

A GoFundMe page has been established to support the family in utilizing all available resources to locate Schreurs. The page reads, 'Harrison is a beloved son, family member, and friend. His family is doing everything possible to locate him and bring answers during this extremely difficult time.' As of Thursday afternoon, nearly $10,000 had been raised, demonstrating strong community support.

The Lincoln Police Department has been contacted for comment, as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Schreurs's disappearance. The case remains open, with family and friends holding out hope for his safe return.
