A 26-year-old man was shot dead while sitting in a car near Euston station in central London on Saturday night, according to the Metropolitan Police. The victim died at the scene on Chalton Street despite paramedics' efforts to save his life.
Police Launch Investigation into Fatal Shooting
Emergency services were called to the area at around 11pm after reports of gunshots being heard. Police have confirmed that CCTV footage shows a suspect arriving and leaving the scene on a bicycle, firing multiple shots at the man who was inside a white Nissan Juke.
Appeal for Information from the Public
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, who is leading the investigation, stated: "We are aware of the concern that this will cause for the local community, and want to reassure them that we are working hard to identify the attacker and bring them to justice." She urged anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing the importance of public assistance in solving the case.
The victim's next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. DCI Yorke added: "Our thoughts are with the young man's family at this incredibly difficult time."
