Philadelphia Police Launch Manhunt for Armed and Dangerous Suspect

Philadelphia authorities are urgently searching for an armed and dangerous gunman believed to be responsible for the fatal shootings of two tow truck drivers in separate incidents. The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Najee Williams, is wanted in connection with the murders of David Garcia-Morales, 20, and Aaron Whitfield, 25, in what police describe as a bloody rampage stemming from disputes within the tow truck industry.

Details of the Gruesome Murders

In December 2025, police discovered Garcia-Morales with gunshot wounds inside a towing vehicle. The 20-year-old victim was shot in the neck and thigh and was rushed to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Just one month later, in January, Whitfield was found inside another tow truck, riddled with gunshot wounds to his head and body, and was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, a 21-year-old woman whose name has not been released, was shot in the leg during one of the incidents and was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police Investigation and Suspect Profile

Commanding Officer of the Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit, Ernest Ransom, confirmed to NBC10 that surveillance footage shows Williams at both crime scenes, firing shots while driving past the vehicles. Ransom stated, "Williams was at both locations and committed both crimes." Officers are investigating whether these shootings are part of a larger conflict over towing operations, with a November murder investigation also underway for possible links to Williams, who owns his own company, NKW Towing & Recovery LLC.

Ransom added, "We believe there’s some kind of connection there. We’re not ready to go on record to say this is a part of that homicide, but we are working towards that direction." In addition to the murder charges, Williams is wanted for violating the Uniform Firearms Act, conspiracy, possessing criminal instruments, and recklessly endangering others.

Remembering the Victims

David Garcia-Morales is remembered in his obituary as a "beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend" with a "social nature and amazing personality." The tribute notes, "[He] cared deeply about everyone and had a genuine heart that touched all who knew him. His kindness, warmth, and ability to connect with others will never be forgotten."

Aaron Whitfield's family has created a GoFundMe page in his honor, which has raised $10,531 of an $11,000 goal as of Sunday. The page describes him as a "playful, hardworking individual who was loved dearly." His mother, Kimberly Randleman, expressed her devastation, telling reporters, "For Aaron to be murdered on the streets of Philadelphia while he was working, it’s unbelievable. It’s not fair. It’s not fair."

Ongoing Manhunt and Public Appeal

Philadelphia police continue to examine surveillance footage, including video showing a silver sedan firing shots at a tow truck as it drives by. The Daily Mail has reached out to Philadelphia police for further details on the investigation. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of Najee Williams, emphasizing that he is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
