Authorities in New South Wales have launched a renewed public appeal for information regarding a serial rapist who targeted underage girls and women along the Central Coast during the late 1990s. The disturbing series of attacks is believed to have occurred between 1997 and 2000, with detectives from the NSW Police Sex Crimes Squad now seeking crucial leads that could finally identify the perpetrator.
Victims and Timeline of Attacks
Investigators suspect the same man was responsible for sexually assaulting six victims during this period. The victims included two girls as young as sixteen years old and four women whose ages ranged from twenty-three to seventy-seven. The geographical span of these crimes covered multiple locations across the Central Coast, including Shelly Beach, Wamberal, Forresters Beach, and Budgewoi.
Physical Description and Vehicle Clues
Police have released a detailed physical description of the suspect, who would now be in his seventies. At the time of the attacks, he was believed to be in his forties, with a caucasian appearance, tanned complexion, solid build, and light-coloured hair. His height was estimated to be between 170cm and 180cm.
More significantly, detectives have identified two vehicles that could hold the key to solving this decades-old mystery. One is a white Hyundai Excel, which investigators believe was used in two of the assaults. The other is a Toyota ute, with police releasing a photograph of this vehicle in hopes it might trigger memories among Central Coast residents or visitors from that era.

Detective Superintendent Jayne Doherty, commander of the Sex Crimes Squad, emphasized that police never abandon their pursuit of justice for victims, regardless of how much time has passed. "We continue to pursue every available avenue to identify those responsible for serious crimes," she stated.
Superintendent Doherty highlighted that changing circumstances over time might encourage new information to surface. "Relationships shift, families grow apart, and individuals who may not have been willing or able to assist years ago may now feel differently. That's why we're renewing this appeal," she explained.
