Disturbing messages from a Sydney man who attempted to orchestrate the assault of a woman and a young girl "in the woods" have been made public following his sentencing to more than three years in prison. Edwin Carr, aged 41, was arrested after contacting an undercover police officer in early 2024, asking if he was "interested in some meat I'm offering" and sending a photograph of the four-year-old child.
Vile Telegram Exchanges Revealed
The text conversation on Telegram, published by news.com.au, showed Carr using the username @devilyaknow to message the officer, who was posing as a 30-year-old pedophile. Carr's sinister plan involved drugging a woman known to him and facilitating her sexual abuse, along with that of the little girl.
In one message, Carr described the child as "So the meat is 4. Not far off 5. Mixed white and black. Autistic." He inquired about the officer's "experience," noting that "obviously some men flake out due to nerves." Carr elaborated on his intentions, stating, "Have you an idea of what you'll do? I'd pretty much cuck and help keep her still. I'm thinking maybe an inflatable and a hire van or something like that. In the woods."
Detailed Planning and Gruesome Fantasies
Carr informed the undercover officer that he had been searching for someone to spike and assault the woman. "Looking a while … If it's just the kid U want. Fine," he wrote. He expressed a desire to avoid detection, saying, "If I could get away with it, I'd just forget the spiking of her drink and have her [abused] by thugs. But like you, I'm not trying to get caught. That's why I gotta plan it carefully."
The messages also uncovered an earlier, equally repulsive scheme where Carr considered having a person with HIV abuse the girl. When the officer questioned this, Carr responded, "I haven't. She's half black. As well as an HIV guy, I thought a neo Nazi would like to leave his mark in her also. I really try to think offensively."
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
After a month of planning, Carr blocked the officer on March 8, 2024, due to "losing trust" in his supposed accomplice. Police raided his Liverpool apartment the following day. During his arrest in March 2024, Carr claimed the plan "never would have transpired" and found the conversation "kind of weird," according to court documents.
He told officers, "I was talking but I was never going to meet anybody. I found interesting about the stuff we were talking about. But I'm not like into it." The woman and child involved cannot be identified for legal reasons.
Sentencing and Parole Eligibility
Carr pleaded guilty to intentionally inciting another person to sexually touch a child under 10 and to inciting a third party to sexually touch another person without consent. Last week, he was sentenced to three years and nine months in jail. The judge granted a 25 per cent discount for his early guilty plea. Carr is eligible for parole on June 8, 2026.
