According to LFB reports, the fire was brought under control by 4:30 pm, after crews from Dockhead, Dowgate, Shadwell, and Whitechapel fire stations worked tirelessly at the scene.
Another teenage boy managed to escape the property before the arrival of firefighters and was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment, as confirmed by the LFB on Thursday. The cause of the fire is currently under joint investigation by the LFB's Fire Investigation Unit and the Metropolitan Police.

The LFB was alerted to the fire shortly before 3 pm on Wednesday. A 64-metre turntable ladder from Old Kent Road Fire Station was deployed, arriving at the scene within six minutes of the initial call. An LFB spokesperson added that another appliance from Old Kent Road had been attending a separate incident but returned to assist later.
