Tragic Discovery at Little Eden Holiday Park

Emergency services were called to the Little Eden Holiday Park in Bridlington on Wednesday, where they discovered the bodies of a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy inside one of the rental lodges. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene, in what authorities describe as an incredibly distressing and heartbreaking incident.

Police Investigation and Arrest

Divisional Commander Chief Superintendent Matt Peach of Humberside Police confirmed that a 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter in connection with the deaths and remains in police custody. While the investigation is in its early stages and the deaths remain officially unexplained, police are actively exploring the possibility that they may be linked to carbon monoxide poisoning.

"This is incredibly distressing and heartbreaking for the families of the teenagers involved, and they are at the forefront of our minds and actions," said Chief Supt Peach. "Specially trained officers have been supporting the families over the last 24 hours, and I would please ask people to refrain from any form of speculation and to respect their privacy."

Multi-Agency Response and Community Impact

A police cordon remains in place at the holiday park as extensive enquiries continue. Humberside Police are working closely with partner agencies including Humberside Fire & Rescue, the Health and Safety Executive, and East Riding of Yorkshire Council to establish the full circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

"We have a dedicated team conducting extensive enquiries, some of which have been complex and required additional time to complete," Chief Supt Peach explained. "Emergency Services and partner agencies have attended all other properties on the site to offer advice, support and guidance and ensure everyone's safety."

The police commander acknowledged the shock and upset this incident will cause to the local community, offering reassurance that authorities will do everything possible to determine exactly what happened. Residents in the area will continue to see an increased police presence as the investigation progresses.
