Woman arrested after two boys die in Wolverhampton fire

A woman in her 30s has been arrested following the deaths of two young boys in a house fire in Wolverhampton. The boys, aged one and three, were pronounced dead at the scene after firefighters rescued them from the property on Mason Street.

Emergency services, including West Midlands Police, West Midlands Fire Service, and West Midlands Ambulance Service, were called to the scene at approximately 8:30pm on Friday. Firefighters entered the burning building and managed to rescue the two children, but despite their efforts, the boys could not be revived and were declared dead at the scene.

The woman, who is believed to be known to the children, was arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of two children. She remains in police custody as of Saturday afternoon, according to West Midlands Police.
