Florida Woman Faces Attempted Murder Charges in Rihanna Home Shooting
A Florida woman has been formally charged with attempted murder and multiple felony counts after allegedly firing shots at the Beverly Hills home of global music icon Rihanna while the singer and her family were present inside the property.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, a 35-year-old Orlando resident, was charged with attempting to kill Rihanna along with ten counts of assault on a person with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited vehicle or dwelling, according to official authorities. Remarkably, no injuries were reported from the Sunday afternoon incident despite the serious nature of the allegations.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman confirmed outside a court hearing that Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, their three children, and the singer's mother were all at the Beverly Hills-area property when the shooting occurred. The singing superstar and her rap star partner were together in a trailer on the premises during the incident, while other family members and staffers were inside the main residence.
"LA based celebrities should not be additionally worried because of this," Hochman stated, "in large part because of the response of the police." He praised officers for their swift action in arresting Ortiz soon after the shooting several miles to the north in the suburb of Sherman Oaks.

During the court hearing, Deputy Public Defender Jamarcus Bradford, representing Ortiz, initially entered a plea of not guilty on her behalf but subsequently withdrew it in favor of postponing arraignment until March 25. Judge Theresa McGonigle ordered Ortiz held on $1.8 million bail and issued a comprehensive protective order requiring her to stay away from Robin Fenty and Rakim Mayers – the legal names of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky – and their residence.
The judge additionally prohibited Ortiz from possessing any firearms or ammunition along with several other specific conditions. Ortiz appeared in court wearing blue jail clothes with her blond hair in braids and communicated with her attorney through a glass divider during the proceedings.

In 2018, a man was accused of breaking into another home belonging to the singer in the Hollywood Hills and spending twelve hours there.
