A mother of three has disclosed that her six-year-old son is compelled to learn a game called 'Sleeping Lions' at his Jewish primary school in North London, designed to protect him in the event of a terrorist attack. The 31-year-old mother, who wishes to remain anonymous, expressed her distress while protesting against Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer in Golders Green, accompanied by her 11-month-old son in a pram.
Mother's Anguish
She told the Mirror: 'Every day I get a pit in my stomach as I drop my six-year-old son off to school, not knowing what will happen to him that day. It's a tragedy.' The school teaches children as young as two to play 'Sleeping Lions,' which involves hiding in toilets or under desks and tables to evade potential attackers. 'No child, whether Jewish or not, should have to learn this. They start teaching them that aged two. My eldest is six now,' she added.
Community Outrage
The protest, attended by around 200 people, reflects growing anger within the Jewish community following recent terror incidents, including a stabbing in Golders Green. The mother emphasised: 'We want to be safe. We want action not words. Our kids should be able to sing a Jewish song without us having to hush them.' She criticised the government's response, noting that her children attend school behind iron gates and security, unlike the Prime Minister's children. 'Why should some of us feel we have to leave the country because they keep importing people who want to do us harm?' she questioned.
