Trump Resists Bulletproof Vest Over Weight Concerns

US President Donald Trump was asked Thursday why he does not wear a bulletproof vest despite being targeted in multiple assassination attempts.

A reporter inquired about any planned security changes after Saturday's shooting at the White House Correspondents' dinner, which saw the president rushed to safety after an alleged assassin attempted to rush the room with multiple weapons.

"I do not know if I can handle looking 20 pounds heavier," Trump replied, sparking laughter in the Oval Office. He added, "I guess it is something you consider. In one way, you do not like to do it because you are giving in to a bad element. I do not know. But I have been asked about it."
