Jiang stated, "If he [Trump] does become president in a second term, there will be a very strong likelihood that the United States will go to war with Iran." In one clip, Jiang asserted, "If this war [US-Iran] were to happen, there's absolutely no way America can win this war." He drew historical parallels between a prospective US invasion of Iran and the Sicilian Expedition of 415 to 413 BC, where Athens mounted a massive military operation against Sparta, Syracuse, and Corinth to seize Sicily—a conflict that ended in disaster for the Athenians.

Professor Jiang formulates his predictions by scrutinising recurring geopolitical incentives, historic patterns, and Game Theory. His YouTube channel's description references Isaac Asimov's concept of "psycho-history," exploring whether it is possible to understand the past, predict the future, and control the present through scientific analysis.
Explaining why Iran also desires conflict with the US, Jiang elaborated in a 2024 lecture that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) "want war with the United States because they're very angry about US interference in Iran." He suggested that a second Trump term would make war with Iran a major priority, with both nations seeking reasons for conflict.
Current Analysis and Escalating Tensions
Professor Jiang recently appeared on the US news series Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar to discuss how events are unfolding. He stated, "Given my analysis of how the war is progressing, I think that Iran has many more advantages over the United States. The reality is, right now, it's a war of attrition between the United States and Iran, and Iranians have been preparing 20 years for this conflict."
He highlighted that Iran has conducted practice runs, including a 12-day war last June, allowing them to analyse the strike capacities of both Israel and the US. With eight months to prepare fully for new attacks, Iran's allied forces—Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis—have developed strategies to weaken and ultimately challenge American influence.
Jiang detailed how Iran is "waging war against the entire global economy" by striking Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and targeting critical energy infrastructures. He alarmingly noted accounts of a drone attack on a desalination facility in Bahrain, which could leave millions without water within weeks, and how Iran has effectively sealed off the Strait of Hormuz, which supplies 90% of food for GCC nations.
Addressing the potential for US ground troops, the professor predicted, "We've never had a president in history where you were able to regime change from the air alone. You need ground troops. And so unfortunately, what's going to happen over the next few months is that pressure will build on America to send ground troops especially, from the GCC countries and from Israel, which are being pounded right now by the Iranians."
