Newly released photographs from the wedding of Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay have starkly illustrated the reported family rift that led to most of his relatives being absent from the ceremony.
One Family Member Present
The couple tied the knot at Bath Abbey on December 27, 2025, in a ceremony that was notably missing most of the gold medallist's family. It has been widely reported that Peaty, 31, uninvited the majority of his side following a bitter fallout. This included his parents, Caroline and Mark, who were said to be 'heartbroken' by the snub.
The sole representative from Adam's family was his sister, Bethany. She took on a starring role as one of Holly's bridesmaids, joining the bride's sisters, Megan, 27, and 24-year-old Tilly.
Body Language 'Says It All'
Despite the underlying family tensions, body language expert Judi James analysed the official group photo from Bath Abbey and suggested it reveals Adam's current state of mind. "His back is ramrod straight, and his chest puffed and splayed in a ritual of alpha pride," James told the Mirror.
"He looks straight into the camera with a confident stare... His expression looks resilient, like a man who has achieved or got exactly what he wanted and who wants the world to know it," she added.
James observed that Holly, 25, looked equally joyful, turning her torso towards her new husband in a display of "loving joy." The expert noted her high confidence levels throughout the day-long shoot with Vogue, highlighting a tender moment where she cups Adam's face as they kiss.
Gordon Ramsay's 'Uncharacteristic' Nerves and Speech Dig
One surprising element from the wedding pictures was the demeanour of Holly's famous father, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. Judi James pointed out that the 59-year-old appeared "uncharacteristically nervous," adopting rigid poses beside his daughter.
However, this apparent nervousness did not stop him from making a pointed remark during his father-of-the-bride speech. With Adam reportedly no longer speaking to his own mother, Gordon told the groom he was a "lucky man" and said of his wife Tana: "Look at Tana and that's what you have to look forward to." He then reportedly added: "Shame you don't have the same," in a clear dig at Adam's absent parents.
The reported family dispute is said to have begun after Caroline Peaty bought a dress for the wedding that was not approved by the bride and groom. In a heartfelt social media post just before the ceremony, Caroline expressed her profound sadness, writing that she felt the couple had "cut out her heart" and that she was praying for a year of peace after the heartbreak.
While the family feud casts a shadow, the wedding photos ultimately project a united and defiantly happy front from the newlyweds as they begin their married life.
