Reality TV sensation Angry Ginge has secured his first major post-jungle role, with the I'm A Celebrity winner set to take the stage at one of music's biggest nights.
From Jungle King to Awards Presenter
The 24-year-old YouTuber, whose real name is Sam, will be a presenter at the upcoming BRIT Awards ceremony on February 28. This marks a significant career move for the star, who was crowned King of the Jungle last year after his fanbase broke voting records.
In a delightful twist for the self-confessed Swiftie, Ginge could potentially present an award to his musical idol, Taylor Swift. Swift is considered a near-certainty for a nomination in the Best International Artist category, setting the stage for a memorable fan moment should she win.
A Homecoming for the Manchester Lad
The appointment carries extra significance as this year's BRITs marks a historic move to Manchester for the first time in the awards' almost 50-year history. The ceremony will be held at the new Co-op Live arena.
Organisers were reportedly keen to secure a star with strong local connections. Ginge grew up in Eccles, Salford, and is a known supporter of Manchester United. A show source revealed that bosses "jumped at the chance" to sign up the "proud local lad."
"The place will go mad when he walks out," the source added, highlighting the anticipated reaction from the hometown crowd.
Capitalising on a Phenomenal Fanbase
ITV, which broadcasts both I'm A Celebrity and the BRIT Awards, is clearly eager to continue its relationship with the popular winner. Executives are banking on Ginge's massive and engaged online following tuning in to see his latest venture.
The weekend before the announcement, Ginge was spotted at London's Alexandra Palace supporting his friend, darts champion Luke Littler, to a second PDC world title.
Hosting the ceremony for the sixth time will be comedian Jack Whitehall, who also has Manchester ties, having studied at Manchester University. Whitehall has described hosting in the city as a "full circle moment," recalling his early comedy sets performed nearby.
This high-profile gig at the BRIT Awards solidifies Angry Ginge's transition from viral online personality and reality TV winner to a mainstream entertainment figure, with his fanbase poised to support his next move.
