Fresh from his jungle victory, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! winner AngryGinge has swiftly landed his first major television role since leaving the Australian outback. The popular YouTuber, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, has been signed up to present at next month's prestigious BRIT Awards.
From Jungle King to Awards Stage
The 24-year-old Mancunian, who became a fan favourite on the ITV reality show, will take to the stage at Manchester's Co-Op Live Arena on February 28. His appointment comes after his jungle stint helped propel the show's final to a staggering 13 million votes, the highest figure the programme has seen in a decade.
A source close to the awards told The Mirror that organisers were quick to secure his services. 'Organisers jumped at the chance to sign up Ginge who is a proud local lad, and who obviously went down a storm in the jungle', they said. 'The show is also on ITV and the execs there love him following his heroics Down Under, and they really want to continue working with him. Ginge brings with him a huge audience, which awards bosses love.'
A Major Move for The BRITs
AngryGinge's debut at the BRITs coincides with a landmark year for the ceremony. 2026 marks the first time in the event's 46-year history that it will be held outside of London, choosing the musical hub of Manchester as its new host city. Comedian Jack Whitehall is set to host the main ceremony.
To commemorate the move, the iconic BRIT trophy is receiving a redesign by local designer Matthew Williamson. The new award will ditch its traditional opaque look in favour of being crafted from transparent amber-coloured resin.
Life After The Jungle
The Salford-born star's whirlwind success shows no signs of slowing. Following his I'm A Celebrity win, where he was rumoured to have earned £100,000, Burtwistle has invested £420,000 in his first home—a mock Tudor newbuild complete with a hot tub and large gardens.
His media career has proven exceptionally lucrative, earning him an estimated £1.2 million in the last year alone. With over five million followers across social platforms, he is in high demand for brands like Puma and JD Sports.
Reflecting on his tougher-than-expected jungle experience, the social media star said: 'I was a massive fan of the show but it was a lot harder than I thought. I reached out to people who had been on it before for tips and clues but no one told me how hard it was going to be.'
Now, with the BRITs stage awaiting him, AngryGinge's transition from YouTube and reality TV to mainstream entertainment presenter is firmly underway.
