Brenda Song Criticizes Alaska Airlines Over Family Flight Disruption
Actress Brenda Song has publicly condemned Alaska Airlines, alleging the company severely disrupted a family trip with her fiancé Macaulay Culkin and their two young sons. In an Instagram Story post on Saturday, the 37-year-old star claimed the airline "split up" her and Culkin, 45, from their children—Dakota, four, and Carson, three—even though they had reserved first-class seats together.
Booking Issues and Lack of Warning
Song explained in her lengthy social media post that she booked the plane tickets "six months in advance" for one of her sons' birthdays. She expressed frustration that Alaska Airlines allegedly "gave away" their seats "with no warning" on the morning of the flight. The actress tagged Culkin in her post and urged others to "never fly" with the airline again.
The Home Alone actor reposted Song's review to his own Instagram Story, adding the caption: "Hell hath no fury like a Brenda scorned..."
Airline Response and Apology
A spokesperson for Alaska Airlines told TMZ that Song's experience was "unacceptable and not reflective of the care" their company aims to provide. The airline apologized for "adding friction" to their travel plans and reportedly reached out to Song privately to address the issue. The Daily Mail has also contacted Alaska Airlines for further comment.
Background on Song and Culkin's Relationship
Song and Culkin have been together since 2017 after meeting on the set of their film Changeland. The pair got engaged in early 2022, welcoming their two sons in April 2021 and December 2022. This family trip incident follows Culkin's recent reflections on fatherhood and his relationship with Song.
Culkin's Fatherhood Reflections
In an interview with WWD published in December 2025, Culkin admitted he never expected to become "a suburban dad who wears Crocs" until parenting changed his perspective. He joked about initially swearing off the cliché but now embracing the comfortable footwear after seeing his eldest child in pink Crocs.
"I wasn't ever really a Crocs guy," he explained. "But when I started having kids, I found out that they are kind of really convenient and cozy."
Personal Grooming and Domestic Life
Culkin also revealed that Song introduced him to basic skincare routines, though he remains fairly low-maintenance. Song joked that she's "lucky" if he even splashes his face with water before bed. Despite this, the couple continues to navigate family life together, with this recent travel ordeal highlighting the challenges of celebrity family logistics.
