The 53-year-old former Baywatch star was seen grabbing a smoothie from the luxury grocery market Erewhon with his girlfriend, Oksana Rykova, and a friend. This outing followed his public statement addressing the tragic accident and the confirmation that he has been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing.
Conflicting Accounts of the Early Morning Incident
Charvet's representative issued a detailed statement to People magazine, describing the actor as "an animal lover and responsible dog owner who would never intentionally harm an animal." The spokesperson emphasized that Charvet's thoughts are with the family who lost their dog. According to the statement, the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. when Charvet was driving through his neighborhood in low-light conditions. He reportedly encountered a neighbor walking three dogs off leash in the middle of the street, slowed his vehicle, moved to the side to pass safely, but one of the dogs moved under the vehicle.
The representative stated that Charvet immediately stopped, called 911, and remained at the scene until authorities arrived, fully cooperating with the investigation. This account directly conflicts with the dog owner's version of events. Vera Errico claimed she was walking her 11-year-old English Labrador, named Sunday, along with two other dogs on leashes just before 6 a.m. when Charvet drove by in his pick-up truck, struck Sunday, and drove away without stopping.

The Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Department confirmed deputies responded to a traffic-related incident involving a vehicle that accidentally struck a dog. Their statement noted, "It sounds like it was accidental and that the dogs were off leash and ran into the roadway," adding that Charvet tried to swerve to avoid hitting them. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Charvet has been cleared of criminal wrongdoing, and authorities do not perceive the incident as a hit-and-run since Charvet contacted them, regardless of whether he remained on the scene initially.
Errico rushed her dog to a veterinarian, but Sunday had to be euthanized due to the severity of its injuries. The Sheriff's Information Bureau confirmed that a traffic report is being prepared following the investigation.
