Celebrity Gogglebox Star Opens Up About Fitness Regimen and Past Boxing Mishap
Comedian and television personality Babatunde Aleshe, known for his appearances on Celebrity Gogglebox and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, has publicly discussed his ongoing fitness journey. During a recent episode of Sunday Brunch, Aleshe shared his commitment to transforming his physique, specifically targeting what he humorously referred to as his "dad bod."
Boxing Experience and Gym Routine
While speaking with hosts Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy, who complimented his improved appearance, Aleshe detailed his current exercise routine. He explained that he has been dedicating time to gym workouts and incorporating boxing into his fitness regimen. However, he emphasised a cautious approach, stating that he avoids sparring to prevent getting punched in the face.
Aleshe recounted a challenging boxing match from his younger years, describing it as an event that ended "badly." He recalled being struck hard in the face during a gym session, which caused his body to freeze and his chin to snap back. The experience was so intense that he immediately removed his gloves and decided to step away from competitive boxing at that moment.
Post-Reality Show Transformation and Personal Insights
This fitness focus follows a significant physical transformation Aleshe underwent after his stint on I'm A Celebrity in 2022. In a social media video shared after exiting the jungle, he expressed gratitude to his supporters and highlighted the personal growth he experienced. He notably mentioned losing a considerable amount of weight during the show, showcasing a slimmer face and expressing enthusiasm about his health improvements.
Despite the positive outcomes, Aleshe admitted he would not repeat his time on the reality series, citing ongoing fears of spiders and cockroaches that persisted even after the experience. He reflected on the journey as a valuable life lesson, though one he does not intend to revisit.
Television Appearances and Future Plans
Babatunde Aleshe's television career includes roles on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside Mo Gilligan, the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, and regular features on Sunday Brunch, which airs on Channel 4. His openness about fitness and personal challenges adds a relatable dimension to his public persona, resonating with audiences interested in health and wellness topics.
