Halle Berry Opens Up About Sex Life and Engagement on Podcast
In a candid new episode of the Sex With Emily podcast, Halle Berry, the 59-year-old Oscar-winning actress, has shared intimate details about her sex life and recent engagement to musician Van Hunt. Berry, who confirmed her engagement earlier this month, declared that she no longer fakes orgasms, a practice she once felt pressured into for men's benefit.
Rejecting Faked Orgasms for Mutual Satisfaction
Berry explained that in the past, women often feigned climaxing during intercourse to make men feel good about themselves. She stated, "We had to say that we did it so that he would feel good about himself. Because what is that doing? That’s putting his needs before our own. And now I don’t do that anymore." She described how she prioritized herself before Hunt entered her life, saying, "I felt like I'd had enough and just wanted to have my career and raise my children and I would be good. But I realized that the minute you get good and you stop chasing that thing – I realized chasing that thing is what always allowed me to make the wrong choices. When I gave up and I said I'm going to prioritize myself, my life, my well-being, my second act... that's when the perfect person showed up." Berry attributed this shift to becoming "whole and complete," which allowed her to attract a healthier relationship.
Engagement Confirmation and Relationship Timeline
Berry confirmed her engagement to Hunt earlier this month, clarifying rumors on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She said, "Well, there's some confusion that he asked to marry me and I said no. No, that's not the case. I did not say no. We just don't have a date. But of course I said I would marry him! He did put a little ring on it." The couple was set up through Hunt's brother during the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020, but they only communicated via text and phone until their first date four months later.
