Helen Flanagan Reveals Car Crash on Eve of New Year 2025
Helen Flanagan in car crash, admits 'rubbish' end to 2025

Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has candidly revealed she was involved in a car accident, describing it as part of a "rubbish" end to the year 2025. The actress and model shared the news with her online followers on Tuesday, 30 December 2025.

A Scary Incident and a Deflated Mood

In a social media post, Flanagan explained the incident occurred the day prior. She admitted the crash was "totally" her fault, stating she collided with another vehicle. Dressed in her pyjamas and holding a coffee, she told fans she was feeling "deflated" ahead of New Year's Eve celebrations.

"I crashed my car yesterday," Flanagan said. "It was fine, could have been a lot worse. It's just hassle, because I planned to go to Scotland." She added that the damage to her car was significant enough to prevent her from driving it, noting "the bumper is hanging off."

Navigating Life as a Single Parent

The revelation about the accident came as Flanagan opened up more broadly about her life, particularly the dynamics of co-parenting her three children with ex-partner, former footballer Scott Sinclair. She shared that her two youngest children, Delilah and Charlie, were very young when the couple split, but her eldest daughter, Matilda, who was seven at the time, finds the transition between homes difficult.

"What I find, probably, like the most difficult is probably with Matilda," Flanagan explained. "She is sensitive, and she takes everything very much in. And every single time that I get her back, she's in a mood with me. She's really moody. She's really sassy."

Flanagan believes her daughter may feel "disowned" when she is not with her, but she strongly emphasises the importance of the children's relationship with their father. "Regardless of mine and her dad's relationship, I always want her to have a relationship with the Father," she stated.

Staying Connected and Moving Forward

To help bridge the gap when Matilda is at her father's house, Flanagan revealed plans to get her daughter a mobile phone so they can stay in touch via FaceTime. "She wants to go choose it, and so we're gonna go do that," she said.

Following the car crash disruption, the actress planned to spend the rest of her day dealing with admin tasks and reading scripts for an upcoming project. This personal update comes shortly after Flanagan publicly expressed disappointment last month, when Sinclair missed their son Charlie's nativity play due to a trip to the Middle East.

Despite the stressful end to the year, marked by the accident and the ongoing challenges of balancing motherhood and career, Flanagan's message ultimately carried a tone of resilience and perspective, acknowledging that the situation "could have been a lot worse."
