Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has shared a candid update with her followers, revealing she was involved in a road traffic accident on Tuesday, 30 December 2025.

A Scary Incident and a 'Deflated' Mood

In a social media post made from her home, where she appeared dressed in pyjamas and holding a coffee, Flanagan confessed to feeling "deflated" and "rubbish" as the year drew to a close. She then disclosed the reason behind her low spirits: a recent collision.

"I crashed my car yesterday," the model and actress stated. "It was fine, could have been a lot worse. It's just hassle, because I planned to go to Scotland." She took full responsibility for the incident, clarifying, "I crashed into another car and it was totally my fault. I can't drive my car, the bumper is hanging off."

Navigating Life as a Single Parent

The revelation about the crash comes shortly after Flanagan spoke openly about the challenges of being a single mother following her split from ex-partner, former footballer Scott Sinclair. The couple share three children: Matilda, Delilah, and Charlie.

Flanagan explained that while her two younger children were very young when the separation occurred, her eldest daughter, Matilda, finds the transition between households particularly difficult. "Matilda is sensitive, and she takes everything very much in," Flanagan said. "And every single time that I get her back, she's in a mood with me. She's really moody. She's really sassy."

She believes her daughter may feel a sense of being "disowned" when she is not with her, despite Flanagan's efforts to maintain a healthy co-parenting relationship. "Regardless of mine and her dad's relationship, I always want her to have a relationship with the Father," she emphasised.

Plans for Better Communication

To help bridge the gap when Matilda is at her father's home, Flanagan plans to buy her a mobile phone. "I said to her, I was like, 'Did you want mummy to FaceTime you?' And she was like, 'Yeah, I did.' So we're getting her a phone anyway," she revealed, adding that Matilda is excited to choose the device herself.

Following her honest admissions, Flanagan explained she intended to spend the rest of her day dealing with administrative tasks and reading scripts for an upcoming professional project.

This personal update follows recent headlines where Flanagan publicly expressed disappointment after Scott Sinclair missed their son Charlie's nativity play due to a trip to the Middle East.
