Holly Ramsay and her new husband, Olympic champion Adam Peaty, celebrated their lavish wedding by spending a staggering £40,000 on gifts for their 200 guests, according to reports.
Lavish Tokens of Appreciation Amid Family Strife
The couple tied the knot at the historic Bath Abbey on Saturday, December 27. It is understood they felt a deep sense of gratitude towards friends and family who supported them during a bitter feud that led to most of Peaty's own family, including his mother Caroline, being absent from the celebrations.
Each guest reportedly received an engraved bottle of tequila worth £190, personalised with the couple's initials, as well as a commemorative t-shirt. The three bridesmaids, which included Adam's sister Bethany, were given even more lavish presents, including pots of the coveted Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream, valued at around £79 each.
A source close to the couple said: "Holly and Adam were incredibly generous to their guests. No matter the turbulence behind the scenes they wanted the wedding to be perfect. And it was."
Gordon Ramsay's Fiery Speech and Floral Extravaganza
The bride's father, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, made a memorable speech at the reception. He revealed he had spent an eye-watering £50,000 on flowers for the big day and warmly declared that his wife, Tana, would now be a mother figure to both newlyweds.
In a playful jab, Gordon also teased his daughter about her choice to adorn the stunning windows of Bath Abbey with white roses, quipping that "only Holly could pick the most beautiful church and choose to cover its stunning windows".
Hints of a New Chapter and Family Healing
The service included hymns such as 'Come Down O Love Divine' and a reading of Psalm 127, which speaks of the blessings of children, hinting at the couple's hopes to start a family.
During his own speech, Adam Peaty subtly acknowledged the pain of the ongoing rift with his family. He poignantly thanked his former swimming coach, Mel Marshall, 43, who has acted as a surrogate parent throughout his illustrious career.
Meanwhile, Holly's wedding dress, which featured a bridal cape, is set to be featured in Vogue magazine, fulfilling a long-held ambition for the bride.
