Katie Price's Dubai Property Hunt Amid Financial and Personal Turmoil
Bankrupt former glamour model Katie Price has embarked on a trip to Dubai to explore luxury rental opportunities in the tax-friendly emirate, reportedly astonished by the value her money can secure there. The 46-year-old reality television regular, who was declared bankrupt in 2024, flew out on Wednesday after learning about Dubai's minimal tax system, seeking respite from her ongoing financial difficulties.
Lavish Lifestyle Comparisons and Weather Woes
Currently residing in a £4,500-per-month rental property in Horsham, Price is said to have been impressed by the opulent apartments and sun-drenched lifestyles available in Dubai for a similar monthly outlay. However, her timing may be slightly off, as the emirate is currently experiencing its rainy season, meaning poolside lounging and tanning sessions are off the agenda for now. Despite this, insiders suggest the allure of luxury living combined with financial incentives could prove irresistible as she contemplates her next move.
Ex-Boyfriend's Sunshine Escape and Relationship Breakdown
Meanwhile, Price's ex-boyfriend JJ Slater is enjoying warmer weather on a trip to Florida. The former Married At First Sight star shared a snapshot from St. Pete Beach on his Instagram Stories last Friday. The Daily Mail recently revealed that Price ended their relationship after realising she did not see a future with the reality star, who is fourteen years her junior. Insiders noted that cracks in their romance had become too obvious to ignore in recent months, despite Price's previous assertions that they were going strong.
The mother-of-five ultimately accepted that their relationship had run its course, confirming that Slater would not become her fourth husband. They began dating in February 2024 after Slater rose to fame on E4's MAFS UK, with Price even discussing the possibility of having a sixth child together, but it was not meant to be.
Property Loss and Financial Pressures
Price's financial woes were further highlighted last January when she was forced to sell her dilapidated 'Mucky Mansion' in West Sussex for a reduced price of £1.15 million after failing to maintain mortgage payments. She had planned to renovate the nine-bedroom property as part of a television makeover series, but financial constraints prevented necessary major renovations. After being evicted, the house was repossessed by her creditors and eventually purchased by furniture tycoon James Mercer, who reportedly fell in love with the property despite its poor condition.
Health Concerns and Medical Investigations
Adding to her challenges, Price has recently expressed alarm over her significant weight loss and 'gaunt' appearance. Last week, fans urged her to seek help after she appeared worryingly thin during a shopping trip with her daughter Princess Andre, aged 18. Speaking on her podcast The Katie Price Show, Price told her sister Sophie that she is undergoing medical tests to determine the cause of her recent weight loss.
Reacting to photographs of her appearance, Price stated: 'I know I look gaunt, I look like I'm ill – hence why I'm going to the doctors tomorrow.' She explained that she has given herself a 'glow up' this week, including facial filler, because her appearance had become so concerning. Price emphasised her desire to gain weight, noting: 'I just wanna put on weight, I really do but I'm just not. Everyone knows I eat – I eat anything that I want, I've never had a problem with what I eat.'
She has booked a doctor's appointment and blood tests with a new medical practice, aiming for a comprehensive assessment. Price also mentioned enjoying a quiet January with minimal alcohol consumption, aside from a glass of champagne at Christmas, preferring to stay at home. She recently described herself as a 'stick woman' and revealed that doctors were concerned about her low blood pressure, requiring multiple checks due to suspected errors.
In October, Price confessed to being hospitalised for weight loss that initially seemed intentional but later baffled medical professionals, necessitating further tests. She told fans on Snapchat: 'The reason I'm going to the doctors is because I keep losing weight and I don't know why.' Her mother Amy has been persistently encouraging her to seek medical advice, adding to the pressure during this challenging period.
