The high-profile marriage between Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman and country music star Keith Urban has been legally dissolved, finalising a divorce that was initiated just over three months ago.
Swift Settlement Reached
The divorce was finalised in a Nashville court, bringing a rapid conclusion to proceedings that began in September 2025. The former couple, married for 19 years, managed to agree on the division of their substantial assets and a parenting plan for their two teenage daughters in a remarkably short timeframe.
Central to the settlement is the division of their vast real estate portfolio, which is reportedly valued at approximately $282 million (around £210 million). The pair have agreed to split their shared property empire, which includes a luxury Manhattan duplex, a Beverly Hills home, a Nashville mansion, and an estate in Australia's Southern Highlands. Each will retain the properties they already own separately.
Custody and Financial Arrangements
Parenting responsibilities for their daughters, Sunday, 17, and Faith, 15, have been formally outlined. Nicole Kidman will have primary custody, with the children residing with her for 306 days of the year. Keith Urban will have them for 59 days, equating to every other weekend.
In a notable aspect of the agreement, no monthly child support or spousal support will be paid by either party. Court documents also reveal that both Kidman and Urban have agreed not to speak negatively about each other or their former in-laws and to encourage their children to maintain loving relationships with both parents.
The Road to Separation
The couple's decision to part ways was first reported in September 2025, with sources citing demanding careers and a resulting lack of intimacy as key reasons for the split. "Keith never sees Nicole, either she is filming or he is on tour," an insider claimed at the time.
Public signs of strain emerged in the months leading to the filing. The pair were not seen together publicly for an extended period, and in a telling incident last July, Keith Urban abruptly ended a radio interview when asked about his wife's on-screen love scenes with younger co-stars like Zac Efron, disconnecting from the Zoom call mid-question.
With the legal process now complete, both Kidman and Urban move forward separately, having settled one of the most significant celebrity divorces of the year with a focus on their children's wellbeing and a clear division of their considerable shared wealth.
