Nicki Minaj Ordered to Pay $503,000 or Risk Losing $20 Million Mansion
Global music superstar Nicki Minaj has been directed by a court to pay a substantial $503,000 judgment following an unsuccessful legal battle, with her luxurious $20 million California mansion now potentially at stake if the payment is not completed promptly. The ruling stems from a lawsuit initiated by her former security guard, Thomas Weidenmüller, who alleged assault by Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, during an incident in Germany back in March 2019.
Judge Considers Forced Property Sale to Settle Debt
According to court documents examined by the Daily Mail, Judge Cindy Pánuco issued the judgment against the 43-year-old Super Bass singer in 2024. Despite this legal obligation, Minaj has not yet remitted the required amount. In November 2025, Judge Pánuco indicated she was exploring the possibility of authorising the sale of the rapper's eight-bedroom residence in Hidden Hills, California, to secure the funds owed to Weidenmüller.
A final decision in this matter is scheduled for Thursday, unless Minaj fulfills the payment to Weidenmüller before that date. The judge has meticulously reviewed the procedures involved in selling the property should the debt remain unsettled, addressing concerns about auction outcomes and fair market value.
Legal Representatives Criticise Minaj's "Intransigence"
Weidenmüller's attorney, Paul A. Saso, has emphasised in legal filings that Minaj's persistent failure to pay demonstrates a costly level of stubbornness in response to the court's ruling. Saso remarked, "Although it is regrettable that the extraordinary measure of forcing the sale of Minaj’s dwelling is required, that result is entirely the product of her intransigence in not making payment."
Saso highlighted that Minaj, estimated to have a net worth between $150 million and $190 million and recognised as the highest-paid female rap artist globally, possesses ample resources to settle the judgment. He stated, "There is little doubt that she is highly capable of paying the judgment in full and, yet, she has refused to do so despite multiple written requests for payment and levies served upon several of her suspected creditors."
The attorney further argued that Minaj's refusal not only wastes judicial resources but also undermines the authority of the court's judgment. Weidenmüller respectfully requests that the court order the sale of the Southern California property without delay to finally obtain the owed compensation.
Political Appearance Adds to Recent Controversies
These legal developments occur shortly after Minaj attracted attention for her participation at the Turning Point USA AmericaFest convention in Arizona. During the event, the Barbie World songstress expressed admiration for both former President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, noting their relatable communication styles.
Minaj commented, "This administration is full of people with heart and soul, and they make me proud of them. Our vice president, he makes me ... well, I love both of them. Both of them have a very uncanny ability to be someone that you relate to." A momentary verbal slip describing Vance as an "assassin" prompted an emotional reaction from host Charlie Kirk's widow, Erika, though she later affirmed her support for Minaj despite the awkward phrasing.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for both Minaj and Weidenmüller's lawyer to seek additional comments on this ongoing legal situation.
