Olivia Attwood Embraces Retail Therapy for First Single Valentine's Day
Olivia Attwood has openly discussed how she navigated her first Valentine's Day as a single woman following her recent split from husband Bradley Dack. The 34-year-old television presenter, who confirmed the end of their three-year marriage last month, revealed that she turned to retail therapy to console herself on the romantic day.
Selfridges Shopping Spree to Cope with Heartbreak
During a candid conversation on her radio show The Sunday Roast with best friend Pete Wicks, Olivia shared that she spent the morning at Selfridges, treating herself to new clothes. "I didn't do anything either, I took myself to Selfridges on the morning as I was like I need to buy something to console myself," she explained. Pete, a former TOWIE star, admitted he had stayed in and ordered a pizza, prompting Olivia to open up about her own low-key plans.
However, the shopping experience was not entirely uplifting. Olivia noted that Selfridges was "god forbid full of couples," which made her eager to leave. She added, "I was like get me out of here." Despite the discomfort, she reflected on her general attitude toward Valentine's Day, stating she has never been a "massive Valentine's person" and would have preferred to watch Wuthering Heights instead.
Moving Forward After a 'Breach of Trust'
Olivia's split from Bradley Dack was announced last month in an emotional statement where she cited a 'breach of trust' on his side. Since then, she has been focusing on work to stay busy and cope with the heartbreak. In a social media post, she reshared a video with the caption, "Forever the girl who needs to stay busy to be okay," highlighting her approach to healing.
Her professional commitments have intensified, including her podcast Olivia's House, her KISS FM radio show with Pete Wicks, and filming for the next installment of her documentary series Getting Filthy Rich. Additionally, she recently celebrated a new collaboration with Garnier, being unveiled as the brand's new face at an event in London.
Personal Reflections and Future Plans
In her statement confirming the split, Olivia expressed vulnerability, saying she had been "crying herself to sleep" but emphasized her desire for both herself and Bradley to find happiness. She wrote, "I want to be happy. I want Brad to be happy. Just one day at a time." This sentiment echoes her current focus on taking things slowly while immersing herself in work and self-care.
Looking ahead, Olivia teased her new ITV show The Heat on Instagram, hinting at a busy schedule to keep distracted. She also joked about ASDA's initiative with red shopping baskets for singles, calling it her "worst nightmare" to be approached in a supermarket, showcasing her humorous take on post-split life.
As Olivia continues to navigate this challenging period, her openness about using retail therapy and staying busy offers a relatable glimpse into coping mechanisms after a high-profile breakup.
