Comedian Pete Davidson has opened up with characteristic humour about the adjustments required after becoming a father, notably joking about his struggle to indulge in porn now that he has a daughter. The 32-year-old stand-up star made the candid remarks during a comedy performance at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas on Saturday, highlighting one particular change that accompanied his new role as a "girl dad."
A Father's New Perspective
Davidson, who welcomed his first child, daughter Scottie Rose, with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt in December 2025, explained that fatherhood has made it challenging to partake in some of his pastimes. "[I] got a little girl. It's weird having a little girl," he said, according to Us Weekly. He admitted it's "hard to watch porn... in front of her," but followed up with a classic quip: "I still did. I power through."
Embracing Parenthood with Humour and Heart
Beyond the jokes, Davidson earnestly shared his enjoyment of the first few months as a parent. "It's a lot of fun," he stated, later reiterating that becoming a first-time father has been "great." This show marked his return to stand-up comedy after a five-month hiatus following his daughter's birth late last year.
Looking ahead, Davidson has a busy schedule with upcoming performances at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on April 22, followed by a show in Winnipeg on July 17, and another in Tacoma, Washington on August 28.
Reflections on Fatherhood and Family
In a previous interview with Us Weekly in January, Davidson described his daughter as "the biggest gift," emphasising how parenthood has shifted his priorities. "Nothing else matters as much or intensely, like career, activities, hanging out with people [or] what do people think of me, that sort of s***," he said. "I still want to do cool stuff, but it's like, 'Well, how long do I have to be away?' Or, 'Is this worth being away?'"
Praising His Partner's Motherhood Journey
Davidson also gushed about watching Hewitt embrace motherhood with ease, calling it "f***ing awesome." He noted, "The whole time I was very sure and knew that she would be great at being a mom. She's very caring and, almost to a fault, puts everybody else's needs first. So, it's really just sweet to see how on top of things she is, and ... if [Scottie is] crying, [Elsie] knows exactly what to do."
He added, "She has, like, little tricks that get her to relax or calm down, and all that stuff is really f***ing cool to watch and see."
Future Family Plans
Davidson revealed that he and Hewitt, who started dating in March 2025 and announced her pregnancy in July 2025, are already considering expanding their family. "We want her to have a friend, for sure," he admitted. "We love the idea of her being a big sister. I didn't think I would already think about having another one. The idea of that sounds absolutely insane right now."
He reflected on the birth experience, saying, "The process of giving birth is so insane, but so empowering once it happens. Just having this little thing, I really can't explain how incredible the whole thing is."
