Quinton Aaron's Spinal Stroke Diagnosis Confirmed After Life Support Rumours
Quinton Aaron's Spinal Stroke Diagnosis Confirmed

The family of actor Quinton Aaron has provided a crucial health update, confirming the star suffered a spinal stroke. This clarification comes days after a viral GoFundMe campaign claimed he was "fighting for his life" with a severe blood infection.

Official Statement Dispels Earlier Rumours

In a statement shared with TMZ on Thursday, Aaron's family addressed widespread concerns about his condition. "We acknowledge that you've heard about Quinton Aaron's condition," they stated. "To update everyone, he had a spinal stroke. He is alert, aware and recovering."

The 41-year-old actor, best known for portraying NFL footballer Michael Oher in the Oscar-winning film The Blind Side, has been hospitalised following the medical emergency. His family emphasised they would provide further updates "as we see fit" while dealing with the situation.

Understanding Spinal Strokes

According to medical experts at the Cleveland Clinic, spinal strokes occur when something - often blood clots - disrupts blood flow to the spinal cord. Common symptoms include numbness or tingling in limbs, muscle weakness, and intense neck or back pain.

The family's statement specifically addressed misinformation circulating about Aaron's health. "Any other information that you hear pertaining to Quinton's health from any other source that isn't coming directly from his official blood relative family... is not to be taken as factual information," they cautioned.

Legal Warnings and Recent Health History

Aaron's family issued a stern warning about unauthorised disclosures regarding his medical condition. They stated that individuals speaking about his health "without consent, which violates HIPAA laws" would face "legal repercussions."

This health scare follows Aaron's recent public health journey. In October 2025, the actor proudly announced a 200-pound weight loss milestone on Instagram, expressing his intention to lose a further 55 pounds to reach his target weight.

Earlier in February 2025, Aaron revealed to TMZ that he had been briefly hospitalised after experiencing a fever and blood-soaked cough. Medical tests at that time indicated he had Type A flu and pneumonia.

Recent Hospitalisation Details

According to TMZ reports, Aaron was hospitalised after collapsing at his Atlanta home. The actor was reportedly walking upstairs in his apartment when his legs suddenly stopped functioning.

The GoFundMe page created by the Veterans Aid Network states that all donations "will go directly toward supporting Quinton's medical needs and helping his family stay afloat during this incredibly difficult time."

Aaron's family concluded their statement by requesting privacy and understanding. "We kindly ask the public to please respect the decisions we make and to please understand that false information or statements may be made by others who continue to come forward but are not fully informed or aware of all of the facts surrounding his condition."
