In a candid new interview, pop sensation Rita Ora has offered a touching tribute to her husband, acclaimed filmmaker and actor Taika Waititi, while sharing intimate details about their marriage and creative partnership.
A Supportive Union Built on Friendship
The 35-year-old singer, who secretly wed the 50-year-old Waititi in an intimate Los Angeles ceremony in August 2022, revealed that their relationship blossomed from a strong foundation of friendship. Before becoming romantically involved in 2021, the pair had been close companions for over four years, a dynamic Ora believes contributes significantly to their harmonious bond.
"I think together we have such clear visions of what we want to do, and so we just support each other," Ora told The Sun. "It does help that we're kind of in the same industry, but even if I wasn't, we are very similar in the way we think, so I'm very lucky to say that we align on a lot of things. Maybe because we had our friendship before we got together."
Creative Collaboration and Mutual Respect
Professionally, the couple frequently collaborate, with Waititi recently directing the music video for Ora's 2025 single, All Natural. Ora described their creative synergy as "awesome" and credited her husband with being a pillar of support for her artistic endeavours.
"It all starts with respecting each other’s space and then sliding in where it fits," she declared, highlighting the balance they maintain between individual autonomy and collaborative input.
Navigating Life Across Three Continents
The couple divides their time between London, Los Angeles, and Waititi's native New Zealand, a lifestyle that Ora embraces with particular affection for her British roots. She expressed palpable excitement about returning to the UK, where she feels most at home.
"I'm so excited, I just love London – the people, the walks in the park, going to get my coffee on Portobello Road," she shared. "I am such a Londoner. Obviously, my family are there, but I love going to the pub and having a roast, too. I tried to have a roast in LA and they just can’t do it. It's like: 'Where's the gravy?' I do look at LA like it's work, then I go to London and it's home."
She noted that New Zealand offers a similar pub culture to the UK, making it another comfortable base for the pair.
Fashion Venture with Primark
Ora's interview coincides with the launch of her new womenswear collection, Every Move Counts, in collaboration with Primark. Inspired by her passion for Pilates, the collection is designed to blend performance with everyday style.
"This collection with Primark was inspired by my love of Pilates and that balance between strength, confidence, and ease," explained Ora, who was born in Kosovo. "I wanted pieces that support you when you’re really pushing yourself, but still feel soft, flattering, and stylish enough to wear beyond the studio."
The range features items priced from £2.50 to £26, including the Rita Ora Gathered Tech Jacket at £22.00. In promotional images, Ora showcases the collection while working out on a Pilates reformer machine, highlighting its functional yet fashionable appeal.
"From sculpting fabrics to buttery-soft layers, everything is designed to move with you – whether you’re training, stretching, or just getting things done," she added. "It's about redefining performance on your own terms, feeling confident in your body, and looking good while doing it. I’m so proud of how this collection brings style and function together in a way that feels effortless and real!"
Fellow brand ambassador Krept also launched a menswear collection with Primark, emphasising accessibility in sportswear. "I believe everyone should have access to great sportswear, not just athletes or influencers," he said. "That’s why working with Primark felt right, it’s about performance and confidence without barriers."
Through her marriage insights and fashion endeavours, Rita Ora continues to blend personal authenticity with professional innovation, celebrating both her creative partnership with Taika Waititi and her commitment to empowering, stylish activewear.
