Sarah Jessica Parker's Rare Public Kiss with Matthew Broderick Steals Golden Eve Spotlight
Sarah Jessica Parker's rare public kiss with husband Matthew Broderick

In a rare departure from their usual reserved public demeanour, actress Sarah Jessica Parker shared a passionate kiss with her husband, Matthew Broderick, at a glamorous Beverly Hills event on Thursday evening.

A Golden Moment of Affection

The 60-year-old star, known for her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw, planted the kiss on her 63-year-old husband of 27 years during 'Golden Eve: The Golden Globes Honor Helen Mirren & Sarah Jessica Parker'. The couple, who typically limit public displays of affection to hand-holding, made a notable exception at the gala held at The Beverly Hilton hotel.

Parker, who was collecting an award, looked radiant in a gold gown paired with a black jacket. The pair, who married in a surprise 1997 ceremony at New York's Angel Orensanz Synagogue, are parents to three children: son James Wilkie, born in 2002, and twin daughters Tabitha and Marion, born in 2009.

Carrie Bradshaw's Future on Hiatus?

The affectionate moment comes as Parker has recently hinted at a potential return to her most famous character. The actress last portrayed Carrie Bradshaw in the sequel series 'And Just Like That...', which concluded after its third season in 2025.

However, Parker has made it clear that any decision about reviving the role rests solely with the show's creator, Michael Patrick King. 'The only thing that really matters is what excites Michael Patrick King,' she told Variety, while noting that King is currently not considering a new 'Sex and the City' project.

Reflecting on the series' conclusion, Parker suggested to CBS Mornings that she might simply be 'on hiatus' from the role. She described the choice to end the show as a 'difficult decision' made to exit gracefully while the experience still felt 'really right and energetic'.

Sequel Prospects and Bittersweet Quandaries

Beyond Manhattan, Parker addressed the possibility of other sequels. She expressed hope that a follow-up to the beloved 2005 Christmas film 'The Family Stone' could still happen, though she acknowledged it is now a 'bittersweet quandary' following the death of co-star Diane Keaton in October.

On a lighter note, Parker confirmed that a third 'Hocus Pocus' film is still in development, joking that co-star Bette Midler is 'like a 13-year-old girl with a new bike' about the project. Midler herself has teased that the script is 'brilliant', though logistical details are still being worked out.

With a career spanning decades and several iconic roles potentially awaiting revival, Sarah Jessica Parker's moment of uncharacteristic public romance with Matthew Broderick served as a charming reminder of the enduring personal partnership that underpins her professional life.
