Oscars Chef Wolfgang Puck Reveals Celebrities' Favourite Dishes on Lavish Menu
Wolfgang Puck, the celebrated chef, has orchestrated an extravagant feast for Hollywood's elite at the Governors Ball, the exclusive after-party following the Academy Awards ceremony. This year marks his 32nd time leading the culinary efforts for this prestigious event, where he has curated a menu featuring over 84 dishes to serve 1,600 guests.
Blending Innovation with Tradition
The menu combines innovative additions, such as a live izakaya station and an Italian gelato machine, with perennial favourites that have become staples over the years. At a preview event earlier in the week, Puck highlighted the appeal of comfort foods, stating, "Comfort food is always the people's favourite food, like our chicken pot pie, smoked salmon pizza, our macaroni and cheese or the mini Wagyu burgers." He emphasized the importance of using high-quality ingredients and maintaining simplicity in preparation, noting that guests often arrive famished after the long ceremony.
A Massive Culinary Operation
To execute this extensive banquet, a formidable team was assembled, including 75 savoury chefs, 45 pastry chefs, and 325 front-of-house staff. They were responsible for preparing vast quantities of food, such as 600 homemade pizzas and 2,000 mini chocolate Oscars, ensuring every detail was perfect for the star-studded audience. The event showcases Puck's dedication to culinary excellence and his ability to cater to the tastes of the entertainment industry's most discerning personalities.
