The Rise of Otiumberg: A Celebrity Jewellery Phenomenon
There exists a particular category of jewellery that celebrities favour for their off-duty moments – understated, sculptural, and quietly luxurious. More often than not, these pieces are crafted by Otiumberg. This London-based jewellery label has evolved into a discreet essential among A-list stars, adorning figures from Margot Robbie and Keira Knightley to Olivia Colman, Jodie Comer, and Julianne Moore. Even the female ensemble of The White Lotus has embraced the brand.
A Sisterly Vision Born from Frustration
Established in 2016 by siblings Rosanna and Christie Wollenberg, Otiumberg emerged from a very specific personal irritation. "We both had multiple piercings and struggled to find jewellery that felt modern, beautifully designed, and made from high-quality materials that we genuinely wanted to wear," they explain. Residing together in London at the time, the duo began creating their own designs – sleek, contemporary styles in silver, vermeil, and solid gold – simply because they could not locate what they desired elsewhere.
What originated as a personal endeavour swiftly uncovered a market void. "We realised there was a clear space for a contemporary brand offering both materials, designed to be mixed and matched effortlessly and at an attainable price point," they state. The outcome is a collection that feels intentionally minimalist – what the sisters characterise as "a design-led, consciously curated aesthetic that feels sophisticated and timeless."
Celebrity Endorsement and Effortless Style
That aura of effortlessness is precisely what has propelled Otiumberg to such popularity with celebrities. The brand's items are seldom flashy in the conventional sense, but they represent the type of jewellery you notice because it appears perfectly suited – whether layered with tailored attire, worn poolside, or paired with a red carpet gown.
One of the earliest celebrity endorsements arrived via Margot Robbie. "Seeing Margot Robbie in our hoops was a really special moment for us," the sisters reminisce. Since that instance, Otiumberg has graced an impressive roster of women respected for both their fashion sense and substance. Keira Knightley – an authentic customer – sported Otiumberg earrings and a cuff at Wimbledon this year, while Anne Hathaway was photographed wearing the brand on Instagram after filming in London. "Moments like that never lose their excitement," they affirm.
Diversity and Signature Pieces
Rather than relying on a single viral episode, the brand's triumph has been built on variety. "It's been the breadth of women wearing Otiumberg," Rosanna and Christie elucidate. "Seeing such a wide range of ages and styles reflected in our customers really reinforces that we are a multi-generational brand."
Among celebrities, ear cuffs have surfaced as a definite favourite. "They've been particularly popular for us – the category has grown by 218% year on year," the founders reveal. The attraction is evident: they do not necessitate piercings, are comfortable to wear, and permit creative stacking. Marketed as sets, they have become a hallmark of the brand's contemporary appearance.
Sustainability and British Heritage
Behind the scenes, sustainability is equally as pivotal as design. Otiumberg is a certified B Corp, utilising recycled gold, lab-grown diamonds produced with renewable energy, and a tightly regulated production model. "We don't overproduce, we don't do seasonal sales and some of our best sellers are six or seven years old," they observe – a rarity in an industry propelled by perpetual novelty.
Although Otiumberg now dispatches globally, its British identity stays fundamental. "We're born and bred Londoners," the sisters say. "Otiumberg is a global brand with strong British roots and London will always be at the heart of what we do." Their Holland Park boutique has transformed into a destination for both local residents and international enthusiasts alike.
