In the ongoing rivalry between PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft has clearly taken the lead for May 2026. The company has unveiled a substantial lineup of titles for Xbox Game Pass, including the highly anticipated confirmation that Forza Horizon 6 will join the service on May 19.
It seems unlikely that Sony will be able to match the breadth of offerings when it announces the PlayStation Plus Extra lineup on May 13, particularly given the other major titles arriving on Game Pass this month.
Game Pass Releases Begin
The May releases kicked off earlier today with the addition of Ben 10 Power Trip, Descenders Next, Wheel World, Wildgate, and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers to Xbox Game Pass.
On May 7, the day-one release of Mixtape joins the service. This narrative adventure, set in the 1990s, features a soundtrack reflective of the era. According to the official description, Mixtape is a nostalgic journey inspired by classic coming-of-age films, blending aimlessness, mischief, music, and the bittersweet feelings of adolescence and growth.
Another day-one release, Outbound, arrives on May 11, followed by Black Jacket, Call of the Elder Gods, and Elite Dangerous on May 12.
Major Titles Arrive Mid-May
On May 14, the frantic first-person shooter Doom: The Dark Ages finally makes its debut on Xbox Game Pass Premium. That same day, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can access Subnautica 2 as a day-one early access release. Microsoft describes it as an underwater survival adventure on an all-new alien world, playable solo or with up to four players in co-op, focusing on building bases, crafting tools, and exploring the depths.
While Forza Horizon 6 is the highest-profile new release, Subnautica 2 may prove more popular based on Steam wishlist numbers.
