Country Star Adam Mac to Finally Enjoy Belated Honeymoon After Album Disruption
Country music artist Adam Mac has announced that he and his husband, Lee Pfund, are finally planning to take their long-overdue honeymoon. The couple's romantic getaway was initially postponed due to the significant chaos surrounding the release of Mac's latest album, Southern Spectacle.
Wedding and Subsequent Postponement
Mac and Pfund, who had been together for eight years, tied the knot in a picturesque sunrise ceremony atop Baby Bell Rock in Sedona, Arizona, last year. Shortly after their wedding, Mac released his album, which led to the couple putting their honeymoon plans on hold. They had originally intended to visit Italy and the United Kingdom, marking their first trip to Europe together.
Speaking with The Daily Mail at the 2026 Queerties, where he was nominated for Breakout Musical Artist, Mac shared the update. 'Well, we didn't get to do a honeymoon because I had an album coming out, and there was a lot of chaos, so we're probably... have a little getaway and do like a belated honeymoon,' he explained.
Life After Marriage and Personal Reflections
Despite the marital milestone, Mac noted that their daily lives haven't changed dramatically. 'We have been together for eight years at that point, so like, not much has changed in our everyday life, but that's good, right?' he remarked. The couple's wedding was featured in the music video for Mac's song Last Rodeo, which he wrote as his wedding vows. On Instagram, Mac expressed his deep affection, calling Pfund 'everything I'm not, but just as quirky and odd in all the best ways.'
Career Challenges and Personal Triumphs
Adam Mac's journey in country music has not been without its obstacles. He moved to Nashville at age 22 and came out as gay the following year, a decision he initially found daunting due to the lack of LGBTQ representation in the genre. 'I had lived my whole life just terrified to come out and to tell anybody who I was,' he told People in 2022. However, he has since embraced his identity, stating, 'I'm just doing what I love and just making music that fulfills me.'
In 2023, Mac made headlines when he withdrew from the Tobacco Festival in Russellville, Kentucky, after concerns were raised about him 'promoting homosexuality or sexuality in a family friendly environment.' He described the situation as 'disheartening' and chose to cancel his performance to avoid controversy.
Musical Career and Future Plans
Mac, known as the Disco Cowboy singer, released his debut album Horizon in 2016 and followed it with Disco Cowboy in 2023. As he looks forward to his belated honeymoon with Pfund, who works in real estate, the couple remains excited about exploring Europe together. Mac previously told Us Weekly they were 'really excited to see all the things and explore.'
This upcoming trip symbolizes not only a celebration of their marriage but also a personal victory for Mac, who has navigated both professional success and societal challenges in his career.
