Comedian Joel Creasey Unveils Muscular New Look for Solo Nova FM Show
Joel Creasey's Buff New Look for Nova FM Solo Show Launch

Australian comedian Joel Creasey has dramatically transformed his appearance, revealing a newly muscular physique and a thick beard ahead of the launch of his solo lunchtime radio show on Nova FM. The 35-year-old, known for his boyish charm, showcased his shock new look in this week's edition of Stellar magazine, confidently flaunting his toned upper arms and a more mature, confident demeanour.

A Bold New Chapter on Airwaves

Creasey, a veteran presenter who previously co-hosted Nova's breakfast show alongside Ricki-Lee Coulter and Tim Blackwell, is stepping into a solo role with The Joel Creasey Show, set to debut on Monday, April 20 at 1pm. He expressed a mix of excitement and nerves about going it alone, joking about the unconventional timing. "When this timeslot came up, I thought: it's time to put on my big boy pants and tackle it solo. Plus, I'm time-fluid. I don't think anybody on planet Earth would be trusting me with a breakfast radio slot," he quipped.

Embracing Chaos with Cheeky Humour

Despite his more mature look, Creasey retains his trademark cheeky grin and irreverent humour. He teased listeners with a hint of what to expect, saying, "It kind of feels like the charming, handsome, charismatic, wonderful bosses at Nova have realised it's a weird time in radio, and in the world... and they've gone: YOLO. Let's just see how much damage you can really do. Let's just pour some more fuel on the fire." His playful attitude extends to his backup plan for any mishaps, citing advice from Gretel Killeen: "If something goes wrong, just blame anyone. No-one knows if you're lying."

Navigating Nova's Radio Shake-Up

This career move follows a significant reshuffle at Nova FM, announced earlier this year. The station axed Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie from the breakfast slot, replacing them with Ricki-Lee & Tim. Fans were initially confused when Creasey wasn't included in that announcement, despite being part of the previous drive show team. However, he quickly revealed his own national show, inspired by Chrissie Swan, joking, "What were they thinking! You'll be able to hear The Joel Creasey Show nationally at lunchtimes."

A Personalised Breakfast Routine

Co-hosts Tim Blackwell and Ricki-Lee Coulter playfully noted that lunchtime for Creasey might feel like breakfast, given his schedule. "When you think about it, lunchtime for you is kind of breakfast radio for you… we're all kind of getting up earlier," Tim remarked. Ricki-Lee added, "You've got your own version of breakfast!" to which Joel responded, "I really do! That is my breakfast." This light-hearted banter underscores the camaraderie amid the station's changes.

As Joel Creasey embraces his buff new look and solo venture, listeners can anticipate a blend of chaos, humour, and fresh energy on Nova FM's airwaves, marking a bold new phase in his broadcasting career.
