Motorhead, the pioneering heavy metal band founded in 1975 by Lemmy (Ian Kilmister), paid tribute to Campbell in an emotional Instagram post. The band hailed him as a wonderful guitarist, writer, and performer with Motorhead in his veins, noting his great sense of humour and joyful approach to life. They described his loss as the world losing an enormous beam of light, expressing devastation and sending love to his family.
Campbell's Career and Legacy
Phil Campbell joined Motorhead in 1984, becoming the second longest-serving member after Lemmy. He contributed to the band's success with top 10 albums like Ace Of Spades and No Sleep Til Hammersmith. After Motorhead disbanded in 2015 following Lemmy's death, Campbell continued his musical journey, recording and touring with his sons Todd, Dane, and Tyla in the group Phil Campbell and The Bastard Sons.
