Olly Murs Takes a Break from Fatherhood for Boozy Darts Day Out in London
Olly Murs enjoys boozy day out at Darts World Championship

Singer Olly Murs was spotted letting his hair down this week, enjoying a raucous day out at the darts in North London. The 41-year-old pop star, who recently became a father for the second time, took a brief respite from parenting duties to cheer on the players at the Paddy Power Darts World Championship at Alexandra Palace.

A Festive Day Out at the Darts

On Tuesday, Murs was in high spirits as he joined the enthusiastic crowd. In a moment captured by onlookers, the Troublemaker hitmaker stood up from his table to down a beer, much to the delight of the cheering spectators. He embraced the festive atmosphere, wearing a darts-themed Christmas jumper emblazoned with the phrase 'You miss, you drink' across the front.

The event provided a stark contrast to his recent home life. Murs enthusiastically threw his arms in the air, supporting England's Ryan Meikle during his second-round match against New Zealand's Jonny Tata. The singer appeared completely immersed in the boozy, high-energy spectacle, enjoying the day out with a group of friends.

Juggling New Fatherhood and a Busy Career

This lively outing comes after Murs has been openly discussing the challenges of balancing his career with a young family. He and his wife, bodybuilder Amelia Tank, are parents to 19-month-old daughter Madison and newborn son Albert, who was born in September.

Speaking candidly on Heart Breakfast with Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston earlier this month, Murs admitted the past few weeks have been 'really tough'. He has been busy promoting his recently released new album, Knees Up, and has a Christmas song on the way, leading to time away from home.

'I did say to her "I promise you darling it is going to be a bit more quieter next year and I’m going to be around a lot more and then you’re gonna hate me even more",' he told the radio hosts, joking about his planned increased presence at home in the new year.

Praise for His 'Unbelievable' Wife

Murs has been vocal in his admiration and support for Amelia, especially following the birth of their son. Last month, he publicly praised her as she celebrated her postpartum body in an Instagram post. 'Two beautiful kids, one unbelievable, incredible wife x I'm a lucky lucky man xx,' he wrote in the comments.

Amelia herself posted a black-and-white clip, thanking her body for 'carrying life twice' and expressing pride in her current self while looking forward to regaining fitness in time.

The singer has previously expressed regret about leaving home so soon after his daughter's birth, having departed just 48 hours later to join Take That on tour. He confessed to feeling guilty at the time and even broke down in tears. It seems this experience has shaped his determination to be more present during Albert's early days, making his promise to Amelia for a calmer 2025 a significant commitment.
