Music icon Robbie Williams has made a 94-year-old superfan's ultimate dream a reality, sharing a heartwarming 20-minute video call after his teenage daughter spotted the pensioner's viral plea online.
A Viral Wish Captures a Star's Heart
The touching chain of events began when Norma, a 94-year-old resident at a care home, featured in a TikTok video shared by Bailey Greetham. In the clip, she was getting ready to watch a Robbie Williams tribute act and revealed that her "life's wish" was to meet the legendary singer himself. The video quickly spread across social media, where it was seen by millions, including a very important viewer: Robbie's 13-year-old actress daughter, Teddy.
"My daughter sent me the link of you talking about me and she said 'Daddy you've got to talk to Norma'," Robbie explained during the call. Taking his daughter's advice to heart, the 51-year-old Angels hitmaker reached out to Bailey just two weeks later to arrange a surprise for Norma.
The Emotional Surprise Unfolds
With Norma unaware in another room, Bailey carried a laptop into the care home lounge, telling her he had a surprise. As Robbie's face appeared on screen, a beaming Norma exclaimed, "Hello Robbie, I have followed you on the television since you were in Take That and you are my favourite."
The pair then enjoyed an extended chat, covering everything from their day-to-day lives to Christmas plans. Demonstrating his characteristic warmth, Robbie told Norma, "If I'm in the UK and up north I will try and pop in in person." To this, Norma joyfully replied, "Oh I would love that, I would be the king of the castle."
Robbie expressed his gratitude for the connection, stating, "It was heartwarming seeing your video on the internet, and heartwarming speaking to you and I'm grateful I mean something to you." The call concluded with festive wishes, with Robbie adding, "Hopefully I will see you next year, ok?" After Norma quipped, "Hope so, if I'm still alive," Robbie assured her, "You will be I'm sure, lots of love, Happy Christmas."
A Family Affair and a Lasting Memory
In a social media caption, Bailey Greetham thanked followers for helping make the moment happen, calling Robbie "the most genuine caring guy we’ve met" and describing the call as "the most incredible Christmas present for our Norma."
The event highlights the Williams family's close bond. It comes shortly after Robbie's daughter Teddy publicly chose her father's music over Taylor Swift's when posed with a tricky desert island question at the premiere of her film debut, Tinsel Town. Robbie and his wife, Ayda Field, 46, are notoriously protective of their four children but have shown immense pride in Teddy's first major acting role.
This spontaneous act of kindness, sparked by a daughter's suggestion and a fan's lifelong admiration, has created a cherished memory for a 94-year-old superfan and showcased the enduring star power and humanity of one of Britain's best-loved entertainers.
