TikTok Star Epic Gamer Grandma Dies at 78, Family Confirms
TikTok's Epic Gamer Grandma Agnes Dies Aged 78

The family of Agnes, the beloved Scottish TikTok personality known to millions as Epic Gamer Grandma, have confirmed her death. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, 21st December 2025, at the age of 78.

A Social Media Sensation in Later Life

Agnes joined the TikTok platform in 2019 and quickly captured hearts worldwide. With her playful charm and unique interests, she amassed a following of over 2.4 million fans. Her content, a delightful mix of knitting tutorials and Minecraft gameplay, resonated for its genuine joy and puckish humour.

Fans affectionately knew her for a distinctive throaty cough, which led to the nickname 'the coughing lady.' This trait was later understood to be connected to her health struggles.

A Courageous Health Battle

In October 2025, her grandson Culsans shared that Agnes had been hospitalised due to her lung condition, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Her absence from new videos was explained by this serious illness.

Just two days after that initial update, Culsans revealed she had suffered a major stroke and doctors had discovered an anomaly in her lungs, requiring heavy treatment. The family's social media updates charted a difficult and emotional journey.

A Legacy of Love and Resilience

On Tuesday, Culsans posted the final, heartbreaking announcement. He wrote that Agnes died at 9:20pm on Sunday 21st December, holding her daughter Pauline's hand. 'She left this world the way she lived in it: surrounded by love,' he stated.

In his tribute, he expressed the family's profound grief, describing watching 'the strongest woman we know slowly lose her words.' He hailed her not just as an internet influencer, but as the cornerstone of their family—a mum, grandma, neighbour, and friend.

'We are incredibly proud of the woman she was long before anyone knew her online,' Culsans shared. He celebrated her for proving that life does not end at a certain age, it only changes shape. Agnes's legacy is one of joy, resilience, and the powerful connections that can be forged across generations and digital platforms.
