Former Hunger Games Actor Ethan Jamieson Faces Serious Assault Charges

Ethan Jamieson, the 27-year-old actor who appeared as a District 4 tribute in the 2012 blockbuster film The Hunger Games, has been arrested on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill. According to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Jamieson was taken into custody on April 8 following an alleged incident in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Details of the Alleged Shooting Incident

The reported assault occurred on March 23, when Raleigh police officers responded to shots fired at approximately 9:52 p.m. local time. Upon arrival, they encountered a victim who reported that an unknown suspect riding an e-bike had fired a single gunshot at their vehicle while they were driving. Two other individuals were present in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

During the subsequent investigation, detectives identified Ethan Jamieson as the individual who discharged a 9mm semi-automatic handgun in the direction of the victims' vehicle. The three men involved are listed in court documents only by their initials: E.F., J.M., and K.W. Their identities and relationship to Jamieson remain unclear at this time.

Legal Proceedings and Previous Arrest

Jamieson was denied bail on April 9, and his next court appearance is scheduled for a disposition hearing on April 30. This arrest follows previous legal troubles for the actor, who was arrested in March 2025 and charged with resisting arrest in a separate incident that also took place in Raleigh, where he currently resides.

Notably, Jamieson was sentenced for the 2025 offense on March 26, 2026—just three days after his latest alleged assault occurred. The Daily Mail has reached out to Jamieson's representative for comment on the current charges, but no statement has been issued at this time.

Jamieson's Acting Career and Background

Prior to his recent legal issues, Ethan Jamieson had a brief but notable career as a child actor. His acting debut came in 2009 with a guest appearance on the popular television series One Tree Hill, where he played a character listed as 'Kid #2.' He followed this with roles in several projects:

  • The 2010 TV movie The Rusty Bucket Kids: Lincoln, Journey to 16 as Ethan
  • A 2010 short film titled Gravity
  • His most prominent role as a District 4 tribute in the 2012 film The Hunger Games, which starred Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth
  • The 2012 documentary The World Is Watching: Making the Hunger Games, where he appeared as himself
  • The 2017 TV mini-series Extras: The Hunger Games
  • His final acting credit in a 2013 episode of the crime series Justified, playing Milo Truth

Despite his involvement in the massively successful Hunger Games franchise, Jamieson expressed ambivalence about pursuing acting as a full-time career. In a March 2012 interview with LancasterOnline following the film's release, the then-13-year-old actor remarked, "I knew that the books were popular, but I didn’t know that the movie was going to be so big." He described the fan recognition at the Los Angeles red carpet premiere as "pretty awesome" but added, "I want to be just a normal person."

The case continues to develop as authorities proceed with the legal process against the former child star.
