Coronation Street is set for a week of explosive drama as a shocking murder plan is revealed and a character's dark secret begins to unravel.
A Sinister Hospital Visit
In dramatic scenes airing next week, the fallout from DI Costello's brutal attack continues to send shockwaves through Weatherfield. With the police officer still fighting for his life in a coma in hospital, his attacker appears to have been identified. However, in a sinister twist, the culprit returns to the hospital intending to finish the job, only to be caught in the act.
It becomes clear that someone ordered the assault on Costello, and all evidence points towards Becky Swain, who is visibly hiding something. Her ex, Lisa Swain, informs her that the police may have traced the individual behind the attack, known by the alias 'Soap'.
Becky pretends to know nothing about this person, but she is soon seen meeting with them. Alarmingly, 'Soap' is in possession of Costello’s burner and personal phone, taken during the assault. When police sirens are heard, it seems their cover might be blown, but Becky manages to evade immediate trouble.
Becky's Desperate Murder Plan
Fearing exposure, Becky's actions take an even darker turn. When Lisa reveals that doctors plan to bring Costello out of his induced coma, Becky sees her window of opportunity closing. She heads straight to the hospital with a deadly agenda.
After checking the coast is clear, Becky grabs a syringe, making it terrifyingly clear that she intends to kill Costello before he can regain consciousness and identify her. Her plan is thrown into chaos when Lisa unexpectedly walks in on her. Will Lisa realise what Becky is attempting, and will this be the moment Becky's villainy is finally exposed?
The Net Begins to Close
Even if she escapes this situation, others are already circling. Kit Green tells Carla Connor that he knows Becky was involved in the attack on Costello. However, he admits that without the missing phones as evidence, it will be difficult to prove her guilt.
Becky, who is indeed hiding the devices, attempts to get the passcodes by speaking to Costello’s daughter. The race is on, and when Kit informs Lisa that they have managed to locate Costello’s phone, it remains to be seen if they can retrieve it in time before Becky permanently disposes of the damning evidence.
