Emmerdale's Danny Miller Jokes About Job Fears After Leaking Aaron Dingle Spoiler
Danny Miller 'in fear of losing his job' after Emmerdale leak

Long-serving Emmerdale star Danny Miller has humorously expressed fears for his position on the ITV soap after accidentally revealing a spoiler about his character's upcoming style change.

A Sneak Peek Sparks Panic

The actor, who shot to fame playing Aaron Dingle after his debut in 2008, took to his Instagram Story on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. From his dressing room on the soap's set, Miller shared a video showing off what he described as a "new smarter Aaron" for the new year.

In the clip, he modelled a black high-neck jumper paired with a quilted bomber jacket, quipping to his followers: "It’s not a turtle neck. I’m assured it’s not a turtle neck." He playfully suggested the hybrid garment could be called a 'turneck' or a 'tulneck' and mentioned fans could "catch this live on ITV and ITVX sometime in February."

Quick Retraction Over Job Security Fears

However, the actor swiftly followed up with a second video, walking to the studio in a clear attempt to set the record straight. "Just in fear of losing my job, I’d thought I’d better tell you it’s not live, just a disclaimer," Miller told his audience with a smile.

He reiterated the joke about the neckline, calling it a "turteneck" and explaining it was "half a turtle for those who didn’t get the joke." Despite his excitement to "show everyone the new Aaron," he finished with a self-deprecating remark, predicting: "Nobody will notice and nobody will care."

A Soap Favourite's Legacy

Danny Miller has become a firm favourite with Emmerdale viewers over his nearly two-decade tenure. His character, Aaron, has been central to some of the show's biggest storylines, from his landmark romance with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) to featuring in the recent epic Corriedale special episode.

This light-hearted incident highlights the careful balance soap stars must maintain between engaging with fans and protecting upcoming plotlines dictated by production schedules. Emmerdale continues to air Monday to Friday at 8:00pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
