Fox Sports Presenter's No-Makeup On-Air Moment Goes Viral
Fox Sports presenter's no-makeup on-air moment

In a refreshing departure from television norms, Fox Sports presenter Charmaine Mifsud has revealed she accidentally delivered a news bulletin without any makeup - and described the experience as 'amazing'.

The Accidental Revelation

The former Channel Seven and Sky News reporter had removed her makeup after mistakenly believing her broadcasting duties were complete. However, she was unexpectedly called back to deliver another bulletin for the pay TV giant, resulting in her natural on-air appearance.

Rather than being embarrassed by the slip-up, Mifsud embraced the moment, posting footage of the incident on Instagram with the caption: 'Anchoring the news without makeup (accidentally) for the first time and it felt amazing.'

Overwhelmingly Positive Response

The reaction from her social media followers was overwhelmingly supportive, with comments praising her natural appearance. Followers described her as a 'natural beauty' and commended her professionalism regardless of appearance. One admirer noted: 'You do a great job with or without makeup', while another commented: 'How it should be done. She is raising the bar!'

This isn't the first time Mifsud has handled on-air mishaps with humour and grace. Earlier this year, she posted a TikTok video showing herself getting hiccups while reading a cricket story, captioning it lightheartedly: 'Right on cue.'

Mifsud's Diverse Broadcasting Career

The versatile presenter has built an impressive career across multiple networks including NBN Television and has even worked as a writer for the South Sydney Rabbitohs. At Fox Sports, she has covered a wide range of sports beyond news reading, presenting segments on both AFL and NRL.

Mifsud demonstrates particular expertise in combat sports, frequently posting content from boxing and MMA events. She has met and photographed numerous high-profile fighters including Tyson Fury, Anthony Mundine, and former UFC world champion Israel Adesanya.

The makeup incident comes during a period of significant change at Fox Sports. The network is implementing structural adjustments ahead of the upcoming NRL season, with former premiership winner Kieran Foran taking a permanent role in rugby league coverage.

Other appointments include former NRL360 producer Mitch Diffin as head of rugby league and Jamie Lockyer as head of cricket. Popular presenter Yvonne Sampson is also scheduled to return following maternity leave.

Fox managing director Steve Crawley expressed confidence in the network's production team, stating: 'In our world it's hard to find good young producers and I feel like I have probably got the best young producers in Australian broadcasting.'
