Teyana Taylor Steals Spotlight from Affleck & Damon at The Rip Premiere
Teyana Taylor upstages Affleck and Damon at premiere

Hollywood A-listers Ben Affleck and Matt Damon found themselves playing second fiddle at the New York premiere of their new Netflix film this week. The spotlight was firmly captured by their co-star, the newly-crowned Golden Globe winner Teyana Taylor.

A Show-Stopping Red Carpet Arrival

Just two days after her triumph at the Golden Globes, Teyana Taylor, 35, ensured all eyes were on her once again at The Rip premiere at Alice Tully Hall. She arrived in a breathtaking sculptural gown by Ashi Studio that featured a built-in mask covering her nose and mouth.

The avant-garde design boasted exaggerated hips, long gloves, and sheer ruched black fabric layered over a nude corset. She completed the futuristic silhouette with black heels, smokey eye makeup, and her short pixie cut styled into glossy curls.

Teyana added serious sparkle with diamond jewellery from Los Angeles label Spinelli Kilcollin and luxury jeweller Repossi. Her appearance followed her win for Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes for her role in 'One Battle After Another'.

Affleck and Damon Take a Back Seat

While Taylor dominated the fashion conversation, her famous co-stars opted for more classic looks. Ben Affleck, 53, looked sharp in a dark suit with a white shirt, sporting a salt-and-pepper beard. Matt Damon, 55, chose a more relaxed navy suit paired with a black t-shirt.

Damon was accompanied by his wife, Luciana, 49, who wowed in a strapless red dress. The couple also brought their three daughters—Stella, 15, Isabella, 19, and Gia, 17—to the event. In a playful moment caught on camera, Gia was seen humorously mimicking her father's red carpet pose.

All About The Upcoming Netflix Drama

The premiere celebrated the upcoming Netflix police drama 'The Rip', which is set for release on January 16. In the film, Affleck stars as Detective Sergeant JD Byrne and Damon plays Lieutenant Dane Dumars. The plot follows a group of Miami police officers whose discovery of a multi-million-pound cash haul sparks intense distrust and paranoia within their ranks.

Affleck and Damon are not only stars but also producers on the project, alongside Damon's wife. The childhood friends, who rose to global fame after co-writing and starring in 1997's 'Good Will Hunting', were in high spirits. Affleck later gushed to Us Weekly about his longtime friend, stating he is continuously reminded of what a great father and fabulous actor Damon is.

The star-studded evening also saw appearances from other cast members including Lina Esco, Sasha Calle, and professional wrestler Jade Cargill. The cast later gathered for a group selfie with Netflix's chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, and CEO Ted Sarandos.
