Traitors Finalist Jack Butler Shares Behind-the-Scenes Moments That Never Aired

Jack Butler, the 29-year-old personal trainer who reached the final of the latest series of The Traitors, has opened up about moments from the show that viewers never got to see. As a Faithful contestant, Butler made it to the dramatic conclusion alongside fellow finalists Fazaaz Noor (Faithful), Jade Scott (Faithful), Stephen Libby (Traitor), and Rachel Duffy (Traitor).

The Unseen Jelly Baby Roundtable

In an interview with Metro, Butler revealed one particularly light-hearted scene that was cut from the final edit. "The one thing that didn’t make the edit that we were gutted about," he said, "we were all chatting in the kitchen, and I used an Oreo and a digestive to make a table and stack jelly babies around it."

He elaborated on the creative moment, explaining, "We made a Jelly Baby roundtable. We even put Claudia Winkleman up on a little platform, and we were all gutted it wasn’t in an episode." This playful behind-the-scenes glimpse contrasts sharply with the high-stakes deception that characterised the show.

Furious Reaction to Banishment

Butler also spoke to the Daily Mail about his intense emotional response after being betrayed in the final moments of the game. Despite making it to the final three, he was outmanoeuvred by Traitors Rachel Duffy and Stephen Libby, who ultimately split the prize money.

Reflecting on the immediate aftermath, Butler admitted, "The first ten minutes after it happened, I was absolutely steaming. I was so angry and I got pulled into a room with the producers and I was calmed down a little bit."

He described how his perspective shifted quickly, saying, "Then I was just looking forward to going home and seeing my partner and my family. It's like 10 minutes of anger and then you're like hang on, it's not actually life or death."

Praise for Fellow Contestants

Despite the betrayal, Butler expressed admiration for the winning Traitors. Speaking about Stephen Libby, he said, "I think Stephen really acted fantastically as like putting on the facade of being a faithful in the earlier episodes. We really clicked and we get on so well. We're very similar."

He acknowledged the skill involved in their deception, adding, "It was only at the end when he turned his slate around with my name. But it's a testament to how much of a fantastic game he played. And Rachel as well. They were both phenomenal. They absolutely deserved it. I am genuinely really happy for both of them."

Show Details and Future Adaptations

The fourth series of The Traitors was filmed in June 2025 and aired on BBC One from January 1 to January 23, 2026, with episodes broadcast Wednesday to Friday each week. The condensed three-week format meant many moments were left on the cutting room floor.

In related news, it was revealed on Monday that The Traitors is set to receive a theatrical adaptation. Production companies Studio Lambert and Neal Street Productions are developing a stage version, written by John Finnermore and directed by Robert Hastie, scheduled to launch in London next year.

The creators have promised "a bold and surprising" experience for fans, set in a "thrilling new hunting ground," continuing the show's expansion beyond television.
