Coulier first faced a diagnosis of a "very aggressive" non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2024, which he discovered after noticing a lump. He underwent intensive chemotherapy treatments that lasted until February 2025. However, during a routine checkup for his lymphoma in December of that year, doctors identified p16 squamous carcinoma, a type of head and neck cancer located at the base of his tongue.
