Ashley Roberts Speaks Out on 'Really Tough' I'm A Celeb Experience After Eviction
American singer and Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts has been eliminated from I'm A Celebrity... South Africa, the all-star edition of the popular reality television series. Roberts, who was a runner-up in the 2012 Australian series, spent 12 days in the camp before being evicted after failing to complete a challenge puzzle in the fastest time.
Emotional Exit and Reflections on the Show
Speaking to presenters Ant and Dec immediately after her eviction, Roberts expressed her disappointment at not being able to see the competition through to the end. "I'm very gutted I didn't see it til the end," she confessed. "In my head I was like, I know this is challenging and tough. I mean, y'all stepped it up a few notches."
Roberts went on to describe the South African series as "really tough" when compared to her first experience on the show over a decade ago. She elaborated on the intensity of the challenges, noting that they went beyond what contestants had faced in previous seasons. "The challenges and trials were really tough. It wasn't just one eyeball, it wasn't just one smoothie. I mean, Craig (Charles) did 30 something shots of blood and guts and brain," she revealed, highlighting the grueling nature of the tasks.
Praise for Fellow Campmates and Lasting Memories
Despite the difficulties, Roberts spoke warmly about her fellow contestants, who included former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, actress Beverley Callard, and Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah. "I loved them all. Everybody had their own magic," she said. "I feel really lucky being through this crazy experience with the group that I had."
Reflecting on her personal journey, Roberts expressed pride in overcoming her fears during the competition. "I am proud of myself. I faced some of my fears," she stated. Among the positive takeaways, she mentioned forming new friendships and cherishing special moments, such as singing and dancing to Lovely Day on her birthday while in camp.
Looking Ahead to the Finale
As the series approaches its highly anticipated finale, Roberts shared her hope that Sir Mo Farah would be crowned king of the jungle. The finale is scheduled to air on Friday, marking the conclusion of the intense competition.
I'm A Celebrity... South Africa continues to broadcast on weeknights at 9pm on ITV1, STV, ITVX, and STV Player, offering viewers more drama and challenges from the all-star lineup.
